I realized that I have not featured any illustrators since November, so I went on the hunt for some visual inspiration and found Jesscia Durrant! I was struck instantly by the softness of her water colour illustrations and the beautiful use of colours, at this time of the month I think is is lovely to surround yourself with the brightness associated with the summer months. Which one of these is you favourite? I like number 4 best.

Here is some weekly inspiration for you – what do you think of David Downton’s illustration?
Our favourite time of year – the Victoria’s Secret fashion show! Or is it? I think you will agree with me that seeing such beautiful bodies is just depressing, but they work hard to achieve them and that is dedication that I simply do not have. Before the show airs on 4th December on CBS, I thought you might like to see the sketches with the final looks! Which one is your favourite?
I realised I have not shown the Vogue Dolls to you in a while. I think the last one is my favourite, what do you think?

I often receive birthday cards with René Gruau’s designs printed on them. I love the illustrations so much that I decided to blog about my favourite few. For me, it is the deep colours and accurate precision that makes the paintings so wonderful to look at, they are easy on the eye and are the perfect representation of elegance and refinement. Gruau was well known for his artistic representations of haute couture shows during the 40’s and 50’s, but especially for his link with the house of Dior, in which Gruau was the artistic director, responsible for advertising. Once I started to accumilate pictures I could not stop, each one is just as beautiful as the previous!
