The Vogue Dolls

July 22, 2012

I knew when I saw these montages that I had to show them to you all. I found them on Vogue.it (Vogue Italia), as some of you may know I love their unique and original magazine and web articles. These Vogue Dolls each have their own name and each look centres around a different theme. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Fanny – Looking at Fabric Pattern and textures.  So the combination of the leather and two tone shirt.

Lily – This look centres around this winter’s tailored style – a velvet suit.

Clara – This look is about the draping of fabric, so how it hangs on the body, like the Givenchy top.

Sofia – In this look geometric prints are a central theme matched with the bright blazer.

Astrid Berges-Frisbey

May 9, 2012

As I blogged about recently, I was kindly given some Italian Vogues, and when I saw these photographs in their Haute Couture magazine I was mesmerized! Astrid Berges-Frisbey first caught my attention in the latest Pirates  and the Caribbean film. Her look is so ethereal and romantic, that I wasn’t surprised that she is a model and a working actress. Even though I tried and failed to understand the gist of the article, I thought I would share the pictures from the magazine, photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth. Where do I begin to describe how much I love the colours, textures, lighting, make-up and clothes! Let me know which are your favourites.

Scrapbook Italiano

April 27, 2012

I think I’m going to start featuring more posts based on Italian Vogue, because some of their content is beautiful. I was lucky enough to be given some Italian Vogues, which I treasure immensely, the images are incredible and it even helps my Italian! I found these scrapbook pieces done by Lele Aquarone on www.Vogue.it  and just fell in love with them. While her English translation is quite hard to follow, I can just about understand her summary of the designer collections/trends for this season. Hope you enjoy them, let me know what you think!

Chiaroscruro – light and shade. McQueen collection featuring coral influences, ruffles and romanticism.

Coloured lace – Exotic feathers for  hairstyles and lace paired with florals, leather, and tulle.

Frame dress – to mesh in traditional print over holographic fabric
